Bilingualism SIG was born in 12th Braz-TESOL National Convention in São Paulo in order to bring together teachers, researchers and professors with different and diverse backgrounds, who share a common interest in Bilingualism. But, the term bilingualism stands for multiple research areas such as: languages in contact, language acquisition and learning, language teaching, bilingual education, language policy, cultural identities, just to mention a few. In this 9th Southern Cone TESOL Convention we are introducing Bilingualism SIG and exchanging ideas about some recent theories and researches we have contact, as well as inviting participants to join and contribute in collaborative networks to share knowledge in such areas.
